Many schools are now offering classes that are completely base online. As more colleges are offering courses this way, it would be a good idea to find out ahead of time if you would do well in an online learning environment. One way to do that is to take online classes through your high school. I took a one semester online course this summer. I have learned that I honestly don't succeed in online learning format. If you prefer a more hands on learning method online school may not be your best choice. You really need to be self driven and hold yourself accountable in order to be successful.
Another way to try out online classes is through this website:

I know not all schools offer online classes so this is a great alternative. Many of the courses offered are by top schools across the nation. There are also lectures available to practice note taking if you want to prep for college.
Any who this is just a short post with what I hope are a few helpful tips.

What's in my pencil bag?
So this will just be a simple what I keep in pencil case post. I find that the tools you keep on hand are directly proportional to your success in school. And while you may not need pens in every color of the rainbow on a daily basis, figuring out what you will use and how effectively is extremely important.
This is my pencil bag. I bought it at wal-mart a couple years back and it has held up pretty well. It is big enough to hold everything I need and has transparent back to it so I can see what I need before I open it.
These are my favorite black ink pens to write with. They are Sharpie brand and can be bought in singles, doubles, or in a pack of four. I just bought these at wal-mart, however I do not recall the price on these. They also don't bleed through paper like a normal Sharpie fine-point marker would.
This is just some tape white-out from BIC that I bought. I was looking for white-out pens but couldn't seem to find any at the time, and I hate using the kind that comes in a bottle similar to nail polish. This was actually a pleasant surprise for me as far a quality goes. However it may take a few swipes before it actually starts applying the tape.
These are colored pens. I like using these when I am taking notes and they are also excellent for color coding which I do in my agenda. From left to right: Papermate InkJoy 300RT, which I bought in a pack of 8, although 6 are shown. Next are my Papermate Profile's. I can't recall the packs size that I bought however there are more than what is shown. Then I have a red Papermate Flair M, which I also use in my agenda for checking off completed assignments.
And finally just scissors and a couple of glue sticks, which I use as the need arises.
All in all, this is what I keep in my pencil bag. I also carry chapstick in the winter to keep my lips from peeling, which comes with the cold weather. Don't go out and but exactly what I have, this is just what I use because it works for me.

These are just some brightly colored highlighters that I picked up. They are BIC bright liners, which are useful for highlighting notes, etc.
Just some plain mechanical pencils, which are also by Papermate. I honestly just use whatever is available when it comes to pencils. And finally just scissors and a couple of glue sticks, which I use as the need arises.
